Lizzie Corbett Academy

Hiya, I’m Lizzie!

I’m a cross between a Jane Austen character and a ’60s hippie, with a penchant for music, cooking and crosswords.

My goal here is to provide free educational resources after a decade of under-funding and austerity, followed by two years of pandemic chaos from which we still haven’t recovered.  And on top of that, exams today are harder than they have ever been!

I’m your newest (and probably only!) free online tutor, from six to sixteen and beyond.

A little about me…

  • Recovering classical music elitist (I’m trying, I promise)
  • Self-confessed rabid Beatlemaniac
  • Doomscroller… of the BBC News app
  • Massive technophobe who still can’t figure out how to use Google

This photo is definitely of me.  Definitely not a famous 19th century German composer (who just happens to be objectively the greatest composer of all time).  Course not.

I am one of those annoying pet owners who is always talking about their animals, so here we go.

Hildie (named after Hidlegard von Bingen, naturally) is my dog.  She just had her second birthday and is a Yorkshire terrier.  That means she has piles of energy – and very little bladder control!

This is my cat, Mischief Quaditsky, but we all call him Puss (yep, well aware that it’s a pathetic name).  He turns eleven old in October and spends about 23 hours a day sleeping.  Nothing else to say about him – he is what is known in veterinary circles as a “common gutter cat”.  Cute though!
